Charity for charity fund

The Charitas Foundation and the Tilburg University Fund Foundation have established the Charity for Charity Fund (Charitas voor Charitas Fonds). The Charity for Charity Fund provides scholarships for women and women religious from emerging and developing countries, in order for them to follow a program at Tilburg University in the field of care & religious life.

International Women’s Day on transgressive behavior

(Sexually) transgressive behavior continues to be a difficult, loaded, and sensitive subject for men to talk about. That is the conclusion of TV show Brandpunt+ on International Women’s Day 2022. Social psychologist Ivana Vranjes studies this subject and emphasizes that is nevertheless important to continue the dialogue on this difficult topic.

University medal and royal honor for Ernst Hirsch Ballin

On Friday, May 13, 2022, university professor Dr. Ernst Hirsch Ballin received the university medal for his many years of outstanding service to the university during his farewell from Tilburg University. In addition, the Mayor of Tilburg presented Professor Hirsch Ballin with the insigna of the royal honor conferred upon him: he was appointed a Commander in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences will launch a new minor for anyone who wants to stay on top of the AI developments in their chosen field of study. The minor in Artificial Intelligence will be offered for the first time in the Fall semester of academic year 2022-2023. Conny Rijken new National Rapporteur Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children

Professor of Human Trafficking and Globalisation Conny Rijken will be the new National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children, starting 1 September 2022. Her appointment was announced on Friday 10 June. She is the successor of Herman Bolhaar, who retired on 23 May 2022.

Data Science students perform data challenge for London Metropolitan Police

Students of the Joint Bachelor Data Science learn to connect theory to practice in three 'Data Challenge' courses. For these courses, students carry out a group project in which they work with real data, talk to real stakeholders and work on a real problem. Professor of Labor Market Studies and Tilburg City Professor Ton Wilthagen has made a song, together with Tilburg top musicians as part of project ensemble Wonderwerk, on the shortages on the labor market. Universities and Province of Noord-Brabant to deploy knowledge to address Brabant issues

The Province of Noord-Brabant and the Brabant research universities and universities of applied sciences have joined forces to reinforce the future economic growth in Brabant and make sure that sufficient and appropriately qualified staff is available to facilitate this growth. Today they have signed a Knowledge Pact for Higher Education in Brabant (Kennispact HO Brabant) to boost entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, and knowledge development.

Every year, new students and alumni are added to the Wall of Fame in the Sports Center for exceptional achievements they have made in top-level sports combined with their academic careers at Tilburg University. Dr. Evangelia Demerouti is a full professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The Board of Governors monitors the university’s objectives and functions as a board of overseers.

Researcher Elisabeth Huis in ’t Veld studies needle-induced fear and fainting and developed an app, AINAR: a game to help children and grown-ups to conquer their needle fear. She was invited to talk about it in the documentary TV show for school children, Het Klokhuis.

We UNiTE to end violence against women

Tilburg University supports the global Orange the World campaign between November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and December 10, Human Rights Day. In that 16-day period, some of Tilburg University’s buildings, like those of hundreds of other organizations in the Netherlands, light up orange to symbolize a brighter future, free of violence.
